Council invites community to Pitch-In

After reviewing details on the Pitch-In Canada campaign, Town Council is supportive of the national program and invites interest from volunteers willing to organize and lead the campaign in Athabasca.

Pitch-In Canada Week takes place from April 18-25 and millions of volunteers are expected to participate in communities across Canada. The main focus will be to promote and facilitate various action programs, from recycling to community clean-up and beautification. A key objective of the campaign is to encourage all Canadians to take pride in their communities.

The success of Pitch-In Canada Week in Athabasca will depend on a sponsoring group stepping forward to take responsibility for organizing it. This could be an ideal Centennial project for a local group or organization.

Program information and promotional materials and resources designed to assist organizers and promoters can be found on the Pitch-In Canada website.

Further questions can be directed to Town Council via the Town Office.
